Detailed Assistance … My Thoughts …

     By Bubba

Hey everybody!! … How in the world are you today?  You won’t believe what I thought about the other day …

  • I bet when they weren't fighting, Vikings (you know … the guys with those horns on their hats) – well, I bet that they had to stick potatoes on the ends of those horns, so they wouldn’t go around poking other Vikings and Vikinettes in the eye.  Don’t you reckon??

  • If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?

  • Suppose the hokey-pokey really is what it’s all about?  Hmmmmm ...

Wait a minute … what was it that Gall told me to talk about?  … That’s right, this detailing stuff and all … I don’t know what the big deal is … we just jump in and do this deal - well unless this other deal needs to be done – or what about that deal, can we switch to that??  Arrrrrg!  I tell you what … you need help?  Heck, I’ll load up right now and head over … need extra help?  Well, just ice down the beer - dad and Henry will be right there![i]  Hey buddy – just remember … [ii]

Everybody gets all worked up over – “I’ve gotta do that!  You’ve gotta do this!  She should … He Should … They should …!!”  Geesh ... Stop The Madness!  I simply can’t handle this anymore … I know that my Mom said that I was a terrible multitasker … she IS right!  Stuff starts happening so fast and furious – I have no idea how ANYONE (even Super Gall) can keep up with it!

Yeah maybe, my thought processes are just a little slower than some (but that don’t mean I’m dumb)!  I’m trying to do it all – and that’s a bunch!  I was watching Dr. Phil the other day (dad was travelling with the Pope or something like that …) and mom-D was home “sick” and there on the TV was a nice lady that had a similar problem as me … go figure … well, Dr. Phil said … Ready for this?  This really is deep and had a profound effect on me … Dr. Phil said, “Well, how is that working for you?” … How deep is that? … I paused and reflected, and I replied to Dr. Phil, “Actually, not worth a FLIP!”  Maybe I said it too loud, I woke mom-D up – guess she thought that I had to go potty - and she put me out in the snow.  So as I sat in the snow – the cold, wet, miserable snow – for three hours, until the door opened, but she just let everyone else out too!  Anywhile, as I was waiting – between shivers – I thought about what Dr. Phil had said, and its impact on me – yeah, I am trying to do too much – all at one time – I’m not yet that overly great at any particular task … but, I am trying like HECK to do everything for everybody, but, I understand that I am not doing any of it overly well.  I get confobulated sometimes – I have several folks wanting stuff all at the same time … everyone says that their stuff is the most important – it’s all important to me (since it is important to them!)  And then, we have CHANGE … Wow! … CHANGE!  Dad seems to like … no, make that, LOVE … change!  He can go into some pretty hard tangents himself.[iii]

Well, guess that I’ll just remember Dr. Phil (I think that dad has a very good buddy named Dr. Phil, or Dad Phil[iv] … or something like that!   I know that dad has quoted him a few times and really respects what he says and thinks …).  Yeah, like Mom suggested, I ought to just slow down a little bit and work it one rabbit at a time.  I know that I can become a RRGG, I just gotta focus!!!![v]

I AM a real fart smeller!!

Adios,

Bubba

[i] I came to realize that life lived to help others is the only one that matters and that it is my duty...This is my highest and best use as a human.

Ben Stein, E! Online, 12-20-03

[ii]When you're down and troubled and you need a helping hand
and nothing, whoa, nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there
.”

James Taylor, “You’ve Got A Friend”

[iii] We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams we would be reorganized. Presumably the plans for our employment were being changed. I was to learn later in life that, perhaps because we are so good at organizing, we tend as a nation to meet any new situation by reorganizing; and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization.

Charlton Ogburn, "Merrill's Marauders", Harpers Magazine, January 1957

[iv] A friend is someone who will help you move. A real friend is someone who will help you move a body.

Unknown (now dad and Phil aren't admitting anything here - you know that ... right!!??)

[v] We all have the extraordinary coded within us, waiting to be released.
