Things I Should Remember ...

By Bubba

→ I should not play tug-of-war with dad's underwear when he's on the toilet.

→ The garbage man is NOT stealing our stuff.

→ I do not need to immediately stand straight up when I'm lying under the coffee table.

→ I should not roll my toys behind the fridge.

→ I should shake the rain (or sprinkler) (or tank) water off BEFORE entering the house (or standing next to dad!).

→ I should stop trying to find the few remaining pieces of clean carpet in the house when I am about to throw up.

→ I should not roll around on dead animals, especially skunks.

→ I should not lick my human's face after eating animal poop (or rolling around on dead animals!).

→ The trash can is not a cookie jar.

→ I should not chew on mom-D's toothbrush and then not tell her.

→ I should not chew on crayons or pens, especially not the red ones, or my people will think I am hemorrhaging.

→ When in mom-D's car, I should not insist on having the window rolled down when it's raining outside.

→ We do not have a doorbell.  I should not bark each time I hear one on TV.

→ I will not steal mom-D's underwear and dance all over the back yard with it.

→ My head does not belong in the refrigerator.

→ I should not bite the officer's hand when he reaches in for mom-D's driver's license and car registration.

And here are some things that I have learned well ...

(how many do you know??!!)

♥ Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.

♥ Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

♥ When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

♥ When it's in your best interest, always practice obedience.

♥ Let others know when they've invaded your territory.

♥ Take frequent naps and always stretch before rising.

♥ Run, romp, and play daily.

♥ Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.

♥ Remain loyal.

♥ Never pretend to be something you're not.

♥ If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.  Damnit!

♥ When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

♥ Delight in the simple joy of a walk with those you love.

♥ Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

♥ Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

♥ On hot days, drink a lot (water would probably be best) and lie under a shady tree.

♥ When you are happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

♥ No matter how often you are criticized, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout.  Run right back and make friends.
